A FEW DETAILS

Lift lives in the menu bar. There’s no window to keep open. Your last 20 reads are there if you need to copy one again.

It reads text on your Mac using Apple’s Vision framework. No uploads, accounts, tracking, or network code. Quit Lift and the recent list is gone. Anything already copied stays on your clipboard until you replace it.

FIRST TIME?

Installing Lift

This release isn’t notarized by Apple. macOS may block it when you first open it.

01 Move it to Applications

Open the downloaded disk image. Drag Lift onto Applications, then open it from Applications.

02 Allow it to open

If macOS blocks Lift, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway for Lift. Only confirm if you trust the download: Apple hasn’t checked this release for malicious software. Apple explains this here.

03 Give it screen access

Press ⌃⌘4. Enable Lift in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording (or Screen & System Audio Recording). Quit and reopen Lift after granting access.
